The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the actually numbers and silly reasons what people are bullied. Some of the simplest things and bring thoughts of suicide to persons head. That’s why we are here to help! Please invite anyone that you can to spread the awareness! It will be held on February 29, 2012! Thanks!

The Colors and Meanings

Blue

One of the most common reasons why people get bullied is looks. That’s what blue represents. Anyone who is bullied for looks is asked to were blue.

Pink

Pink is for those who get bullied because of there gender. For anyone who have been the target of sexist comments, pinks your color!

Purple

Sexual orientation is a major bullying topic. Who hasn’t been called fag or queer? For some its extra hurtful. For those who have been put down cause of your sexuality, purple is your color!

Brown

This color is for those people who have ever been discriminated or picked on because of there race or culture. Names like “then n word” and raciest jokes are popular amongst teens. Where brown to raise awareness!

Yellow

If your a person with any disabilities, and have been called names or hurt in any way because of it, yellow is your color!

Red

Red is for all the red heads out there who get picked on with comments such as “gingers have no souls.” Any haired people out there that have been bullied cause of there hair, this is your color!

Green

I’d have to say that green is one of the most important ones, and the bullying for it should stop. Green is for anyone that gets bullied for being different. For all those people who tried to express them selves and got picked on for it, greens is your color.

You’re Not Alone

Every Forty Seconds

Inspired by the stories of a handful of teenagers and young adults, Every Forty Seconds is a non-profit organization to help raise awareness of suicide and depression amongst our generation. Started by two teenagers, Every Forty Seconds was created to support those who have suicidal thoughts, and hopefully help lower the numbers of suicide. The name of this organization comes from this horrible fact – Every forty seconds, a person commits suicide. A life is taken. Our generation is extremely depressed. People feel unaccepted, lost, hopeless, ignored, uncared for and alone. People are bullied and tormented if they’re different in any possible way. Whether it is because of their race, their sexuality, their culture, their gender, their religion or other beliefs or even their hair color; if a person is different, they get bullied. People do this all the time, to all kinds of others. Usually by various habitual slurs. Be honest, have you ever said something like “that’s so gay” or “you’re such a blonde?” Sure, these types of things tend to be meant as a joke, but words can be hurtful. Just by calling someone anything along the lines of dumb, ugly, a failure a queer, etc., you can really damage someone’s confidence. People don’t realize what that can do. This type of torment is often one of the first things that will lead a person to suicidal thoughts. Awareness needs to be raised about these issues. If we all work together, we can change this awful reality. The goal of this organization is not only to help raise awareness and lower numbers – it’s to make people realize that someone does care. That they are not alone. They are not hopeless. They can get help. Seeking help should never be viewed as a weakness; especially not if it saves a life. Open your eyes; help to raise awareness, right here, right now.

Please reblog this to get the word out of this new cause. Every reblog will move us one step closer. Spread the awareness. Thank you!

I just learned that every forty seconds, someone commits suicide.
I must say, that is extremely heart breaking for me to figure out.
It’s gotta stop…
Bullying, the pressure to be perfect, the influence from the media…
Society’s judgement of what is beautiful and what isn’t…all of it.
Everyone…

That was great XD
